About Adastra
Adastra is a rock band from Zagreb, formed in 2005 and led by singer and guitarist Jeronim "Jerko" Marić. The band carries on from Flare, the group Marić had founded as guitarist and songwriter together with his sister, singer Anđa Marić. Flare's debut album Srebrni won both the Porin and the Crni mačak award for best debut album, and the group opened for Duran Duran and HIM.
While they were recording their first album, Adastra released four singles, each with its own music video. The debut, Adastra, came out on Croatia Records in June 2007 with twelve original songs. Rapper General Woo of Tram 11 guested on "Pusti", and "Nabujala rijeka" climbed high on the charts of most Croatian radio and television stations. In November 2007 Muse chose Adastra as the opening act for their concert at Dom sportova in Zagreb, and an English version of "Nabujala rijeka", called "Nina", went out on a Radio Express compilation sent to stations in more than 80 countries.
In 2008 the band released "Surovi grade", written for seventeen-year-old Luka Ritz, who died after being beaten by his peers. The song became an anthem against violence among young people, and Marić started the campaign now called "Nije svejedno", with a large concert on Zagreb's main square in November 2008 and a dozen more concerts up to 2011.
"Zašto se skrivaš?" from 2009 came second on Hrvatski radio's annual chart, and the station's listeners and jury named Adastra the group of the year. The second album, Surovi grade, followed in March 2011 with guests such as Ana Bebić, Hana Blažević and cellist Petra Kušan, and went straight to number one on the Croatian album sales chart. In 2012 the band recorded "Porque te escondes" and "Amor de verano" in Spanish.
Two more albums followed on Croatia Records, Katarza in 2015 and Tajni prolaz in 2023. The playlist gathers the band's own videos, from "Ti si sa neba" and "Samo s tobom" to their newest songs.
