About 6pack Čukur
6pack Čukur, born Boštjan Čukur on 29 September 1978 in Slovenj Gradec, is a Slovenian rapper who grew up in Velenje. His stage name joins a six-pack of beer with his surname and also plays on the name of the American rapper Tupac Shakur. He likes his stories Slovenian, sad ones with a happy ending, and his rap is light-hearted.
In the early 1990s he sang in local clubs with his secondary-school band, then freestyled at jazz nights in Velenje's Max club and in Maribor. The pop group Funk You brought him onto their first album and their tour of Slovenia. His debut album, Ne se čudit, came out on Menart in 2001, with music and production by Saša Lušić; its single "Šluk šluk" uses a sample from a Czech video game.
The second album, Keramičarska lirika (Menart, 2003), is named after his trade as a ceramic tiler. He wrote all its lyrics, and its singles included "Joj" and "No. 1 žena". A 2005 reissue added a bonus track that joined "Joj" with Jan Plestenjak's "Lolita" and became the hit "Joj Lolita". On stage he played with the band Pimp Panthers. In 2009 the third album, GangstaDillaPlayaGorilla, came out on Čarli.
In July 2014 he released "Dve plati", a duet with Alfi Nipič. The song looks at love from the side of a man who has been played, and Čukur said it was not strictly rap, mixing in rock, soul and blues; Nipič said he joined without hesitation because he respects every kind of music.
His other songs include "Štanga tanga", "Klasični Štajerc", "Keramičarski bluz", "Hula Hop", "Devetdeseta" with RecycleMan, also known as Ali En, "Prave tipke", "Sorry stari" and "Kopalnico ima 2".
