2CELLOS

2CELLOS were a Croatian cello duo, Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser, who played their own arrangements of famous rock and pop songs, classical pieces and film music for two cellos. Hauser comes from Pula, and Šulić from Maribor in Slovenia, born to a Croatian father and a Slovenian mother. Once rivals at music competitions, they met at a master class in Pula as teenagers, both studied at the Zagreb Music Academy and went on to study in London and Manchester.

They became famous in 2011 with their video of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal", which drew more than three million views in its first two weeks. Sony Masterworks signed them, their debut album 2Cellos came out in July 2011 with covers of U2, Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, Muse and Kings of Leon, and Elton John invited them on his tour; they played with him for five years, including the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace in 2012. They also appeared in the TV series Glee, and in June 2012 filled Arena Zagreb.

In2ition (2013), produced by Bob Ezrin, brought guests such as Elton John, Lang Lang, Steve Vai and Zucchero, and reached number one in Japan. Celloverse (2015) included AC/DC's "Thunderstruck", whose Baroque-costume video passed 200 million views, Avicii's "Wake Me Up" and Hans Zimmer's "Mombasa". Score (2017), recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, turned to film and television music, led by a "Game of Thrones" medley, and in 2018 they played the UEFA Champions League anthem before the final and released Let There Be Cello.

Their sixth album, Dedicated, came out in 2021, and the Dedicated World Tour of 2022 was their farewell: Šulić stepped back to focus on his family, while both continue as solo performers. With Oliver Dragojević they recorded "Lipa moja" and "Galeb i ja". The playlist gathers their official videos.
