About Zona Isključenja
Zona Isključenja is a rock band from Goražde, formed by a group of friends in 1995. Drummer Jasmin Bešlija, keyboard player Dženan Hadžović and bass player Senko Borovac had already played together under the name Paradox. The new name refers to the UN Security Council resolution that made Goražde an exclusion zone for artillery weapons during the Bosnian War. On its records and channels the band also writes itself Zona Iskljuchenja.
In the early years the band concentrated on rock ballads and played at festivals for demo bands. The debut album took eleven years, which is why it is called Vakat je... ("It's about time..."). Hayat Production released it on 7 July 2006. It was recorded in three studios over a long stretch, partly at the Pavarotti Music Centre in Mostar, and it was the first studio album by any band from Goražde. Videos were made for "Ljubav" and "Lijepa moja", and the album gave the band its breakthrough on the Bosnian rock scene; a reviewer at Federalni radio called it "the most beautiful rock story coming from the province".
The second album, 13. Soba, followed on 13 November 2008, again on Hayat Production, recorded and produced at Marin Meštrović's Amadeus studio in Sarajevo; the thirteen stood for the band's years together. The band described its sound as hard rock with elements of Bosnian folklore, and the album has a rock version of the sevdalinka "Emina" to Aleksa Šantić's words, a thirteen-second silent track called "Tišina" and the singles "Boje jeseni" and "Grad", both with videos.
After that Zona Isključenja almost disappeared from the scene. The band came back in 2012 with a new guitarist, Omar Softić, who took over from founding member Nihad "Kruger" Gluščić, and released the single "Moj svijet". The third album, Trenutak, sat, godina, was recorded over about three years at the Pavarotti Music Centre, produced by Saša Karabatak and Marin Meštrović, released by Hayat Production on 16 December 2016 and presented with a concert in Sarajevo. Its nine songs include "Zauvijek mlad", "Sve što tebe dotakne" and an unplugged version of "Vila"; the band called the compact record "the maturity of the band".
The line-up is singer Admir Hurem with Borovac, Bešlija, Hadžović and Softić, and most of the music is written by Borovac and Hadžović. The band has kept putting out new songs on its official channel, among them "Ponekad" and "Opet mrzi me utorak".
