About Živo blato

Živo blato ("Quicksand") is a Croatian heavy metal band from Split, founded in 1997 by the folk and rock singer Siniša Vuco as a humorous side project. On stage Vuco becomes General Vasilij Mitu, on guitar and vocals, a stage name made of a Russian first name and a Romanian surname. The other members are known only by stage names such as Veseli Sir ("Merry Cheese") on drums and Mala Planina ("Little Mountain") on bass, which, Vuco has said, lets him replace a musician without changing the band.

The band played its first concert in Split in November 2000 and released its only studio album, Konac konca, the same year; Index.hr later called it legendary. In Croatia and the neighbouring countries Živo blato has a cult following, even though it has played only a few concerts.

From 2010 Vuco kept announcing a big new album, while new songs were played live. In 2011 two female backing singers joined, Nazifa Gljiva and Trudna Tableta, and the earlier bassist Gospodin Mr. Rabbit returned in place of Mala Planina; this line-up made the video for "Otet ću te njemu". In September 2012 the band released the live album Live in Zagreb 2012, and in 2013 the single "Nek sam kurva", which Index.hr flagged as for adults only.

The playlist here is the album Konac konca, with songs such as "Estrada", "Objede", "Burek", "Doktor", "Tex Willer" and "Pucko".
