About Sateliti

Sateliti are a Bosnian group playing izvorna, the root music of rural Bosnia, usually sung by two voices over violin and šargija. The group was formed in 1989 by the singer Muto with Miki "Violina" and Carka, and Muto, its founder, is still its lead voice.

The line-up has changed over the years. From 2003 to 2009 Sateliti were Muto, Edin, Azis and Hazim; in 2009 Edin, Azis and Hazim left and formed a group of their own, Edo i Sateliti Drine, which is a separate act. The later line-up has Muto and Sadik on lead vocals, Sadik also on keyboards, Edo on šargija and backing vocals, and Fudo on violin.

Their first album, To je život pravi, came out in 1989. A long run of albums followed, among them Selam Podrinju (2002), Kad bi znala moja žena (2003), Gori mi pod nogama (2005), Volim žene (2006), Nikad nisam (2007), Daleko je moja Bosna and Hana konto otvorila (both 2008), Kad se žene napiju (2014), Bijele bluze, svilene dimije (2017) and, in 2019, Plaču žene i spominju mene, Udri muški and Žena zove, a švalerka piše. Their biggest hits are "Facebook" from 2014 and "Crna dvojka" from 2015.

Like much izvorna, their songs are about love, home and life abroad, and about modern life too, from Facebook to cars. Many of their titles name the Drina valley and the town of Vlasenica. This playlist is their 2019 album Udri muški, with "Udri muški", "Facebook 2", "Vozi lola Audia" and "Baraba iz sela".
