About Nude

Nude is a Slovenian pop rock band from Celje, formed in February 1993. In their career they have played more than 1,500 concerts and public shows, released eight albums on ZKP RTV Slovenija, made twenty music videos and put out 46 radio singles. Their awards include a Viktor for the most popular music act in Slovenia and the bronze coat of arms of the City of Celje for promoting the city at home and abroad.

The band started at the Gimnazija Lava secondary school in Celje, where classmates Boštjan Dermol and Gaber Marolt, both seventeen, set out to form a band with Primož Pogelšek, Vladimir Kroflič and Jernej Lipuš. Dermol, with twelve years in choirs behind him, became the singer, and Marolt, a clarinettist, took the drums. They first called themselves Every East; keyboardist Luka Umek joined after an audition, and the band rehearsed in a shelter they named "Plac". Their biggest early show was as the support act for Bajaga at a packed Špica hall in Celje. They then voted for a new, shorter name: Nude, meaning bare and honest, in the spirit of the bands they loved, from U2 and Blur to Nirvana and Metallica.

The debut album Predigra (1997) brought "Povejmizakaj pesem", "Luna se gunca" and "Kamni". Supermarket (1999) followed with "Balon", "Pepelka (rad te imam)" and "Ši'z d bes", with which they finished tenth at EMA 1999. With Drugačna gravitacija (2001) came "Polja sanj", "Budala" and "Ni čist greh", eighth at EMA 2001. They marked their tenth year with NUDE - 10LETje (2004) and released Mal narobe in 2005, with "Kere hude bejbe" and "Tako lepo si zlomila mi srce", sixth at EMA 2005.

Sedem svetov and NUDE Live both appeared in 2009; from it came "Element L", fifth at EMA 2007, as well as "Padam v ljubezen", "Pozabi" and "No more war!". Vzpon LCD generacije - Analogna ljubezen (2013) brought "Najlepša pesem", "Zadnji poljub" and "Še imam te rad", and the anniversary collection Dvajset came out the same year. In 2014 they returned to EMA with "It's Gonna Be Ok!". Over the years they have worked with Neno Belan, Mateja Starič, Lara Baruca and Alya, among others. Today the band is Boštjan Dermol, Leon Posedel, Gaber Marolt, Marko Furek and Jernej Kirbis.
