About Grimm

Grimm is a gothic rock band from Bar, Montenegro, whose sound reaches into gothic metal. It was formed in Bar in 1999 under the name Grim and has been led from the start by Nebojša Đukanović, its singer, guitarist, composer and lyricist.

The band's first single, "Rijeka moga sna", came out in 2003, followed the same year by "Idi sam". Đukanović entered Montevizija 2005 on his own with "Začaran" but did not reach the joint final. In 2006 Grim took part in Evropesma, the Serbia and Montenegro selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, with "Uspavanka", and the same year brought "Mjeseče" to the Sunčane skale festival. It then entered MontenegroSong, the Montenegrin national final, twice, in 2007 with "Kada ona ljubi te" and again in 2008.

In 2008 Grim released its first album, Neomeđeni, on Muzička asocijacija Crne Gore. Shortly afterwards the band broke up, and Đukanović carried on with the singer Ivana Janković as the rock duo Grimm; in 2010 the two released "Vjetar te odnosi" and "Poslednje tkanje" as Ivana and Nebojša Grimm.

Grimm grew back into a full band. Work on the second album, Iza tišine (Beyond Silence), began in 2015 in Lazarevac, Serbia, with the producer Boris Šurlan, and it was released by Miner Records in 2016. Its singles included "Igla u oku tvoje duše", "Spuštam se" and "Aquarius", and later came "Vratiću se" (2021) and "Stari moj" (2023).

At the end of 2024 the band announced a new album, Between the Worlds, with the single "Prah", and in early 2025 followed it with "Kroz prste" and a video. Đukanović explained that the song's lyrics can be heard as a love song, but that what slips through our fingers can also be fate, hope or a missed chance. The album was recorded with Bojan Dobrilović and mixed and mastered by Boris Šurlan. The line-up now has Đukanović and Ivana Janković with Marko Mirković on bass, Željko Samardžić on drums and the new guitarist Veljko Ivanović, who first played with them at a concert in Bar just before New Year.
