FIT

Fit is a Croatian pop-rock band from Rijeka, built around singer Davor Lukas Bajo and guitarist Zorko Opačić. In a Novi list article, Zoran Prlja of the Rijeka scene called Fit "pravi powerpop bend", a real power pop band, and in 2023 the band celebrated forty years.

In 1987 Fit appeared with "Ritam promjene" on Rijeka-Paris-Texas, the compilation put together by Goran Lisica Fox, alongside Let 3, Grad, Grč, Ogledala, Idejni nemiri and Strukturne ptice. According to Fox, Fit was just arranging its own album at the time, and soon afterwards the band became very popular across the former Yugoslavia. Hits such as "Kao mačka", "Zaboravit ću sve", "Uz rijeku" and "Telefon" were played on radio stations across the country, and Fit could sell out Belgrade's Dom omladine.

The band's activity came to a stop in 1991. After a long break Fit returned with the unplugged album Live uz Rijeku (2009) and the studio album 2011, produced by Opačić in his Amsterdam studio and released as a free download; tportal's reviewer gave it 9 out of 10 and picked out the song "Najljepša".

In 2023 the band reunited for FIT – The Best Of, 40 godina, new arrangements of its best-known songs, which audiences received well. The line-up now has Davor Lukas on vocals, Mirko Sokolović on bass and Ivan Fece Firchie on drums, with Opačić writing and producing. In 2026 Fit released the single "Odvedi me", which the band calls the start of a new chapter, ahead of its first studio album of new songs since the reunion. "Ritam promjene" lives on as well: in 2024 the band Ritam promjena, which took its name from the song, released a cover of it as a tribute.
