Divan

Divan is a pop rock band from Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is on Muzika-Balkan under Bosnia because it was founded there in 2006 and is still a Tuzla band. Its songs are mostly about love, longing and everyday feelings, written in a poetic, lyrical style.

The band was started by singer Elvis Salkić and Omer Pepić, who wanted to make an album of their own songs. Salkić had been playing covers of rock and pop classics in Tuzla clubs with guitarist Zlatan Bečić, bassist Julije Đaković and drummer Alvedin Dadanović, and he insisted that they all join the new project, which soon got the name Divan.

Recording began in mid-2006 at the Long Play studio in Sarajevo with producer Mahir Sarihodžić. Technical problems in the studio dragged the work out, and the debut album, Jednina, finally came out in 2012 on the music label of BHRT, the public broadcaster. After the album was promoted and played live, the band took a four-year break.

Divan came back in 2016, when Radio Kameleon and the management of Bijelo Dugme invited them to open Bijelo Dugme's big concert at the Tušanj city stadium in Tuzla. Mirza Tokić joined on bass that year, replacing Đaković, and in 2017 Omer Pepić left the band. The single "Zima će sad" followed in February 2018.

In 2020 Armin Tokić took over the drums from Dadanović, and in 2024 a second guitarist, Ismail Fatić, joined to make a five-piece. The singles of these years include "Bolja strana", "Zbog mojih suza" and "Kad padne noć", and its better-known songs also include "Sevdah proljetni", "Kap po kap" and "Ruža". The playlist gathers Divan's videos from their own channel, from the Jednina songs to "Kad padne noć".
