Barbara Munjas

Barbara Munjas is a Croatian singer and songwriter, born on 7 December 1988 in Rijeka and raised in the nearby seaside town of Ika. She is best known as the singer and lyricist of the rock band Barbari, as the former female voice of the Istrian folk rock band Gustafi, and, since 2018, as a solo artist.

Her first single, "Ti si tu", came out in 2007, and with it she took part in Dora 2007, the Croatian Eurovision selection. Singing first in the second semi-final, she collected 11 points, finished twelfth and did not reach the final. Later that year she joined Gustafi and remained the band's main female vocalist until she left in 2012.

In 2013 she formed her own rock band, Barbari, with herself as the singer. Barbari released two studio albums, Monfiorenzo underground in 2013 and Santa Barbara in 2014, and the band's official videos and live clips, among them "Mjesečina", "Patološki lažljivac", "Realnost" and "Noge II", are part of the playlist here.

She started her solo career in 2018 with the single "Men". Her debut album, Right Place & Right Time, was released by Aquarius Records in March 2022 and earned her a nomination for album of the year at the fifth Rock&Off awards. Videos from that period include "Like I Wanted", "Laž na laž", "Kad tad", "I Will Be Standing" and "Farewell".

She returned to Dora twice. In 2023 she was one of 18 contestants and finished eighth with "Putem snova", and in 2024 she competed with "Nepobjediva" but was eliminated in her semi-final. "Nepobjediva" and "Narativ" later appeared on her album Baj Baj Kikimora, also released by Aquarius Records, and she has performed her songs live with the Porto Etno orchestra.
