About Amra Halebić

Amra Halebić is a Bosnian singer of pop-folk and pop who also performs folk, sevdah and spiritual music. She was born on 8 April 1984 in Konjic, finished primary and secondary school there and graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Sarajevo. Her talent showed in childhood, and her mother Munevera later wrote songs for her.

Her first public performance came in 1997 at the Mali šlager festival in Konjic. She sang with a local cultural and artistic society and competed at festivals across Bosnia and Herzegovina, winning several first prizes. In 2003 she auditioned for the RTVBiH sevdah programme and made her first studio recordings, the sevdalinke "Akšam mrače" and "Ja te pjesmom zovem", and the same year she appeared on television for the first time, on Folk šou, hosted by Enver Šadinlija. Second place in the OBN TV competition Folk talenti brought her wider attention.

Her debut album Imitacija came out in 2005, followed by Stani zoro (2007), Sretna i voljena (2009) and Budi mirna, on the Tempo label. Through the 2010s she released singles such as "Krvare sjećanja" and "Budi mirna" (2011), "Javi kad ti loše krene" (2012), "Lažove" and "Žalosno je to" (2013), "Bez pozdrava" (2015) and "Neodoljiv" (2016), and in 2019 a video for her version of Dino Merlin's "Ne zovi me na grijeh". In 2015 she shared a live recording of the spiritual song "Oprosti, ja Rab", and she has recorded the sevdalinka "Moj beharu" for TVSA.

In 2017 Amra Halebić toured Australia with the singer Šaćir Ametij. Among her best-known songs are "Stani zoro", "Tamne noći", "Vodi me", "Zadnja šansa", "Imitacija", "9 dana (sijalo je sunce)", "Sretna i voljena" and "Za sve kasno je".
