Altiyan Childs

Altiyan Childs is an Australian rock and pop singer, born Altijan Juric on 10 June 1975 in Mount Isa, Queensland. He grew up in Sydney. He is on Muzika-Balkan because of his family: his father is of Croatian descent and his mother is Serbian. The sources do not say where he lives today.

At school he fronted a rock band, and he later co-founded the group Masonia, whose 2004 single "Simple" reached number 41 on the Australian singles chart. Masonia broke up in 2008.

In 2010 he entered the second season of The X Factor Australia in the over-25s category, mentored by Ronan Keating, and on 22 November he won it, the first over-25s contestant to do so. He then signed with Sony Music Australia. His debut single, "Somewhere in the World", reached number 8 in Australia and number 5 in New Zealand, and his self-titled debut album went to number 3 in both countries and was certified platinum in each.

More singles followed, among them "Headlines" in 2012, "Dreams" in 2013 and "Girl" and "Celebrity" in 2014. His second album, Born Before the Sun, came out in September 2015 on 9LoveRecords, with "Rise Up" as a single. In 2016 he played the title role in a Queensland production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and in 2023 he released independent singles such as "Nobody", "Baptised" and "The Power".

The playlist holds his own songs and the recordings of his X Factor performances, from "Somewhere in the World" to "The Power" and "Covenant".
