Alo!Stari

Alo!Stari is a Slovenian punk rock band from Maribor, active since 2019. Their songs are written in mariborščina, the dialect of Maribor, which gives their titles their unmistakable spelling: "Nea vem kam", "Nea guši", "Kaj naj zaj nareim".

The five members came together from other bands of the Maribor scene: Trash Candy, Happy ol'Mc Weasel, Low Value, Multiball and Burning Legion. Singer Tine Matjašič, guitarist Jernej Metež and drummer Tomaž Medvar had all played in Trash Candy, guitarist Matic Mlakar in Burning Legion, and bassist Matej Kosmačin in Happy ol'Mc Weasel, Multiball and Low Value.

Their first year brought four songs, "Nea vem kam", "Star", "Alo, stari!" and "Valovi", and Klara Zupančič of Val 202 picked "Nea vem kam" as one of the best Slovenian songs of 2019. In May 2020, when concerts were not possible, they played for Val 202 over a video link in the series Koncert doma. A steady flow of singles followed, among them "Vse bi dal", "Zalubo", "Maček Muri", "Mozolj" and "Kaj naj zaj nareim", collected on the debut album Pa kaj te s tao je? (2021).

Then came "Prie tako leto", "Nea guši", recorded with Emkej, "Lej ti ovega", "Preživeli smo še eno noč", "Nisn jezn (sao me razpizdi)" and "Glavno, da midva sma skup", a duet with Naja, on the second album Sem prii, nič ti neom! (2024). Later singles "Spali bomo te ko bomo mrtvi", "Babe", "Meni ste vsi isti", "18", "Piki aja" and "Kreten" led to a third album, simply called Alo!stari, in 2026.
