Adalita

Adalita Srsen, known simply as Adalita, is an Australian rock singer, guitarist and songwriter, the founding singer of the band Magic Dirt and a solo artist. She was born on 25 February 1971 in Geelong, Victoria. Her father was a Croatian cabaret performer, who named her after a Spanish song, and she is of Croatian descent: that is why she is on Muzika-Balkan under Croatia. She is a Melbourne musician.

In the early 1990s she formed Deer Bubbles with bassist Dean Turner, then The Jim Jims with guitarist Daniel Herring, and with drummer Adam Robertson the group became Magic Dirt, formed in Geelong in 1991. The band's 1994 EP Life Was Better earned four ARIA Award nominations, and its albums Friends in Danger, What Are Rock Stars Doing Today, Tough Love and Snow White all reached the ARIA top 40; "Plastic Loveless Letter" was its biggest hit.

Her first solo recordings were two covers for the film Suburban Mayhem in 2006, "Double Dare" and "Sex Beat", produced by Mick Harvey. Dean Turner encouraged her to make a solo album and began producing it, but he died of cancer in August 2009. She finished it in 2010, and Adalita came out on 4 March 2011 on Liberation Music, entering the ARIA Album Chart at number 23, after the Hot Air EP of 2010.

Her second album, All Day Venus, recorded with producer Lindsay Gravina and with Jim White of Dirty Three on drums, followed in September 2013 with the single "Warm Like You". Her third, Inland, came in December 2022, announced by "Dazzling". She has sung as a guest with Bodyjar, Katalyst and The Beasts of Bourbon, duetted with J Mascis on RocKwiz, and since 2018 she has also been back on stage with the reunited Magic Dirt.

The playlist gathers the official music videos from her own channel, from "Hot Air" and "The Repairer" (2011) to "Trust Is Rust" and the songs of Inland.
