About Trobecove krušne peći

Trobecove krušne peći, often shortened to TKP, are an avant-garde post-punk band from Zagreb, formed in 1981. Critics file their music under alternative rock, punk, post-punk, noise and no wave, with psychedelic and funky turns, and their intense, raw and noisy rock set them apart from the rest of the scene. Their style follows the line of The Fall, Pere Ubu and Gang of Four.

The band named itself after Metod Trobec, the best-known serial killer of the former Yugoslavia, and the way he disposed of his victims. The provocative, morbid name caused them trouble from the start.

In 1984 they released a four-song demo cassette. In April 1985 they recorded their first album in Ljubljana, in the studio of Borut Činč of Buldožer, but it never came out while the band was active; it was reportedly banned because of the lyrics. They played on until 1987, when Produkcija Slovenija released the live album Ta krvava prošlost..., recorded at a concert in Koper on 15 May 1987, and then stopped. The 1985 recordings finally appeared in 1992 as a cassette of one hundred copies on Kekele Aquarium, thanks to Kornel Šeper.

The members regrouped in 2005 under the name Viva Glorio and recorded a demo in Zagreb's Šišmiš studio. In 2013 came S mukom žvaču trubadurov vrat, a box set on LP and two CDs with their songs, live recordings, demos and videos, which Večernji list greeted as the long-lost album finally released, and TKP reunited in the original line-up for a concert at Močvara in Zagreb on 25 May. The live album Ether followed in 2017 and the studio album Radost in 2025.

The band was led by singer and guitarist Darko Begić, with bassist Mario Barišin, guitarist Ivan Vinski and drummer Gordan Dorvak; Damir Kolarec played guitar from 1981 to 1983, Ratko Danilović, formerly of Sexa, took over the drums in 1986, Dražen Heraković played lead guitar and saxophonist Damir Prica Kafka of Capri guested. The playlist here is Radost.
