Overflow

Overflow is a pop-punk and punk rock band from Koprivnica and Varaždin, founded in Koprivnica on 11 February 1990 by four teenagers: singer Goran "Žika" Živković, drummer Dalibor "Dado" Martinčević, guitarist Branimir "Mali" Živković and bassist Dejan "Kosta" Kostadinović, who was replaced a few months later by Konrad "Kono" Mulvaj. Until 2013 they sang in English.

In 1991 they released their debut, Through Department Store, on Slušaj najglasnije, with the single "Naked" / "Beautiful Fire", and their first tour took them through Italy, France, Croatia and Slovenia. The second album, Dorothy (1993), was followed by a European tour from Denmark to Austria. The video for "Dorothy", directed by Ivan Rocca and the first Croatian video shot on film, topped the Croatian charts and was shown on MTV in Britain and America, and Overflow became the first Croatian band played on MTV International.

Through the mid-1990s, while studying, they kept playing in Europe alongside D.O.A., Urge Overkill and Poison Idea. The third album, Extremely Perverted Fantasies of the Mad Milkman's Disordered Mind (1997), came with videos for "The Mad Milkman" / "I Kill" and "Don't" / "Una morbida muchacha"; guitarist Mali left and Nikica Jovanović replaced him. The video for "Sun Is Wearing Suit of Badges" from the 1998 EP Protected by the Badge was banned from Croatian television. Unbreastfed 69 (1999), recorded in the Netherlands with producer Mr Zlaja, brought "Ebony & Ivory" and "She Wants to Be a Man", the first video shot with an X-ray camera.

After a break from 2001, the band returned in 2005 with bassist Zoran "Zoki" Piberčnik and the album "Live" at... Parties (2006). In 2010 they toured North America, playing Canadian Music Week, South by Southwest and the CMJ Music Marathon. Hit Me (2011), recorded in Amsterdam, gave them the video "Surprise"; critic Dubravko Jagatić called it the album of the decade. In 2013 Overflow & Miškina, on Dallas Records, set poems by Mihovil Pavlek Miškina to music, their first album in Croatian.
