Lumberjack

Lumberjack is a rock band from Dobrepolje in Slovenia. It played its first concert in November 2012 with Anže Omahen on drums, Jaka Novak on bass and Rok Ahačevčič on vocals and guitar. Guitarist Žan Boc joined after a few concerts and Blaž Kuster soon replaced Omahen, and this line-up stayed together until 2017. In 2015 the band appeared on the TV show V svojem ritmu, in an episode devoted to rock, and reached the semi-final of the third season of the band contest Špil liga.

Early in 2017 they released their first single, "Oči", with their first official music video. Robi Glač then replaced Boc, and keyboard and percussion player David Podgornik joined by the time of the single "Kdo" in November 2017. With them Lumberjack again reached the Špil liga semi-final in 2017/18. In May 2018 Nika Records released the EP Nov kliše with their first four songs, "Oči", "Zaupaj", "Kdo" and "Pleše", and in October the debut album Brez nadzora, brez morale followed, with "Kralj" and later the singles "Čist vse" and "Tist dan".

On 16 February 2019 the band sang "Lepote dna" at EMA, the Slovenian selection for Eurovision, and they were nominated for newcomer of 2018 at the Zlata piščal awards. The video for "Eden tistih" followed in October 2019, and in May 2020 came "Krik svobode", sung by Glač. "Disko ljubav" was released in 2020 and "Dovoljene so vse stvari", with singer Tine Zajec, in 2021.

After Glač and Podgornik left in 2022, guitarist Blaž Grünfeld joined, and with him the band released "Nisem isti". Their second album, Dejt, came out in 2023 with "Usodna" and "Sam" and also gathers "Lepote dna" and the singles since 2020. Today Lumberjack is Ahačevčič, Grünfeld, Novak and Kuster, and their recordings are collected here from the band's Topic channel.
