About Ljetno kino
Ljetno kino is a Croatian band founded in the summer of 2009 on the island of Brač by Max Juričić, together with the clarinettist Vlade Matulić and the drummer Filip Petković. Its home port is Postira on Brač. Juričić had earlier played in Film, Azra, Le Cinema, Vještice and Šo! Mazgoon.
The band's sound is built on three-part singing, ukulele, clarinet and drums. Ljetno kino plays its own songs alongside songs from different eras and styles, rearranged for a lively, dancing party, and the late Vlada Divljan of Idoli called it an "acoustic punk band".
For years the band worked with Divljan, billed as Vlada Divljan & Ljetno Kino Big Band, including at the EXIT festival in 2014. Together they recorded the EP 4 godišnja doba and the concert album Live@Tvornica kulture, with Divljan's songs such as "Samo jednu ljubav imam", which Juričić says many couples choose for their first wedding dance, and "Najlepša". At an evening in Divljan's memory in Belgrade, Srđan Gojković Gile sang "Nebeska tema" with Ljetno kino behind him.
On its own the band has released the singles "Ruke", a song by Darko Rundek, and "Za ljubav" (2020). Ljetno kino has played at the opening of the Cannes film festival, at InMusic and EXIT, at island parties on the Adriatic and in city clubs, at Fuliranje in Zagreb on New Year's Eve 2021 and at Jarun lake. In 2024 it celebrated fifteen years with a concert in Postira. Juričić also has a solo project, Plesač sporog stepa.
