Leut Magnetik

Leut Magnetik is a Croatian band that Croatian Wikipedia describes as a group from Split. They are on Muzika-Balkan as a Croatian band born in Zagreb, where they were founded in 2001 as an experimental group playing at art exhibition openings and performances. The sources found do not say more about where the band is based today; they are still active and played new live sessions in 2026.

Winning Inkubator, a contest for young bands, in 2003 brought them a deal with Aquarius Records and their first album, B612. Its hit "Evo me doma" won over a wider audience. Two years later the band changed its sound, and the album Leut Magnetik (2005) turned towards electronic music. Its single "Vecchia Cola" reached people through a striking video, which earned the band an MTV award nomination in Lisbon in 2005, and in 2006 they won the Porin for best album of urban club music.

After a three-year pause they returned in 2011 with new material recorded only on analogue and acoustic instruments, now with a guitarist and a string trio. The songs "Arhitekt" and "Sam na plesu" came with videos by young artists Branka Valjin and Natko Stipaničev, both honoured at the Croatian film revue; "Sam na plesu" also won best applied video at the Festival of Croatian Animated Film and the Croatian film critics' Oktavijan award for best music video in 2012.

On 1 April 2022, after eleven years without a record, Leut Magnetik released Celuloza to mark their twentieth anniversary, a year late. The band wrote, played, mixed and produced every song themselves, except for the words of "Dan po dan" by Lota Tudor. The line-up is Ivan Kovačić and Gordan Tudor on keyboards and vocals, Tudor also on saxophone, Vojin Hraste on bass, Mišo Komenda on guitar and Karlo Kazinoti on drums; the B612 line-up also included singer Aleksandar Antić, drummer Veljko Popović, percussionist Milivoj Popović and flautist Ana Iverac. The playlist gathers their music videos.
