About Fakofbolan
Fakofbolan, also written FakOfBolan and shortened to F.O.B., is a punk rock band from Pula in Istria, active since 1993. The band grew up around Monte Paradiso, the Pula collective that started a hardcore punk festival of the same name, and Moonlee Records calls them one of the longest-lasting and most popular punk bands in the region.
Their first release, a tape simply called Fakofbolan, came out in 1996 on Monte Paradiso Tapes, the same year as a split release with Dark Busters. The first album, Jedini dokaz, followed in 1998 and Provincija uzvraća udarac in 2002, and a live recording from the tenth Orto Punk festival in Ljubljana in 2003 was released in 2006. Along the way the band turned up on many punk compilations at home and abroad.
After a quiet spell the band came back with sold-out concerts and, about ten years after Provincija uzvraća udarac, with the album ...Ako ne možeš napraviti sam bar pokvari drugome..., later also released on vinyl by PDV Records. A reviewer heard punk rock melodies, catchy street punk riffs and uplifting elements of hardcore, with lyrics about the gap between the upper and lower classes and about everyday life.
In 2017 Fakofbolan recorded a song for Za tebe, a tribute album to KUD Idijoti, the Pula punk band. Their best-known songs include "Lovci na vjetrenjače", "Predgrađa", "Sumrak civilizacije" and "Uvijek ili nikad?". The playlist here is the band's own channel, with the official video for "Uvijek žedni", a live "Ulica" from Cres and a recording made with I.R.A.
