About Bohem
Bohem is a Slovenian rock band, sometimes described as symphonic rock, whose members come from all over Slovenia and who make their music in Trbovlje. In 2023 the band was called a fixture of Slovenian rock for almost twenty years.
Bohem made their name in 2004 with their debut album, Življenje ni zločin, released by Melopoja. Its most successful songs were "Kraljica sanj", sung with Lara Baruca, "Deveti junij", "Kri", "Boem" and "On je jaz", their biggest hit, whose video has passed two million views on YouTube. The video for "Deveti junij" was directed by Mitja Okorn, and Bohem were at the time the only Slovenian act allowed to film a video in the Ljubljana Opera House.
Their second album, Manifest ljubezni, followed in 2008, with "Romanca", "Dan za vas", "Vest" and "Kič". In 2011, in the middle of recording the third album, guitarist Marjan Kotnik left and Simon Šubic took his place. That album, Na drugem bregu, came out in January 2014, with "Polja mladih let", "Vse že imaš", "Moje", "Nihče iz vesolja", the title song and "December".
In 2017 the band released "Balada o njej" and "V Ljubljani", and in 2018 "Značaj" and "Moja dežela", all with videos. Before the video for "Moja dežela" was filmed, drummer Damir Pavlič left and Luka Pate joined. After "Mi smo še vedno tu" and "Ostani blizu" in 2022, Bohem released their fourth studio album, Proti toku, on 22 March 2023, World Water Day. The video for its single "Pesem ptic selivk" was directed by Dejan Babošek at Preddvor Castle.
In February 2024 the band parted with its long-time singer Matic Jere, and in May it introduced Ian Ostrožnik as the new vocalist with the song "Kaj vse bi dal". In October 2025 came "Nepopisan list", followed a month later by "Tebi", also recorded as a duet with Záli. Bohem today are Ostrožnik, Šubic, bassist Dejvi Kotar, keyboard player Manca Pinterič and Pate.
