The Loudest Silence

The Loudest Silence is a symphonic metal band from Sarajevo. Singer Taida Nazraić and keyboard player Denijal Ćatović had played together since 2006, and in 2010 they founded the band in Sarajevo. Its music joins classical sounds and metal: operatic vocals and orchestration over heavy riffs.

The line-up is Taida Nazraić on vocals, Denijal Ćatović on keyboards and orchestration, Mirza Ćorić on guitars, Džemal Bijedić on bass and backing vocals and Damir Sinanović Bumbar on drums. The band played Demofest in 2012 and the Sarajevo Metal Fest in 2013, and in 2015 they represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Wacken Metal Battle at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. That year they also released a song that later returned on their album as "Wood Nymph".

The debut album, Aesthetic Illusion, came out in the summer of 2018 on TLS Europe: eleven songs and more than an hour of music. The band called it partly a concept album, because most of the songs are about the immortality of ideas, dreams, art and love. Mark Jansen of the Dutch band Epica sings on the twelve-minute "Gallery of Wonders", which also has Ajla Subašić on flute, Tatjana Romanić on violin and viola, and extra guitars by Muris Varajić and Gordan Dizdarević Grk. "Redemption" got a lyric video, and the ballad "The Loudest Silence", which gave the band its name, became their first official video, followed by "Wake Up in My Dream" with the whole band.

During the pandemic the band slowed down, and in 2022 it came back with a cover of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box", inspired by Ramin Djawadi's orchestral version, as a sign that they were still going. New songs followed: "The Core" with a lyric video in 2023 and "Spirit of Solitude" with an animated video in 2024.

This playlist is the band's official YouTube channel, with the videos for "Spirit of Solitude", "The Core", "Heart-Shaped Box", "Wake Up in My Dream" and "The Loudest Silence", and live clips of The Loudest Silence from Wacken and Sarajevo.
