Primitive Dread

Primitive Dread is a hardcore band from Ohrid, North Macedonia. It plays a fast, heavy mix of hardcore punk and crossover thrash metal, sings mostly in English and has also written songs in Macedonian.

The band's first release, Rusty Chains of an Endless Transition, was recorded between December 2020 and January 2021 in Macedonia and Sweden and came out on 27 April 2022 on Diehard Records, together with Matracookie Records. It has four songs, "In This Hell", "Devoid of Dreams", "Victimized" and "Doomed", recorded by the singer Dimitar Saveski, the guitarist and bassist Ljupčo Jimmy Stefanoski and the drummer Jordan Malenko, who also mixed and mastered it.

For Merciless Indifference, recorded in Macedonia and Sweden in the late summer of 2023 and released on 5 July 2024, the line-up grew with Stefan Trajčeski on guitar and Hristijan Vojneski on bass. Its six tracks include "Protectors", with James Pligge of the hardcore band Harm's Way as guest singer, the crossover thrash title track, "Cynic World", "Reaping What We've Sown" and "Mrakot ni e poznat", sung in Macedonian. The same year Diehard Records put both releases on one vinyl LP, Rusty & Merciless.

In July 2026 Primitive Dread released a new single in Macedonian, "Nema dno".
