Lufthansa

Lufthansa is a rock band from Skopje, North Macedonia, formed in 2020. Its six members, Ivo Nikolovski, Andrej Dimovski, Luka Jovanoski, Viktor Stojanovski, Rade Bikovski and Martin Dzorlev, play post-punk and psychedelic rock and, in their own words, "everything that comes at the moment". The songs are sung in Macedonian.

The band came together at the height of the pandemic and made up for lost time in its first full year. Demo Tape 1 came out on 5 April 2021, Demo Tape 2 on 17 July and Mirovna tegla ("The jar of peace") on 8 October, three releases in six months. That year Lufthansa played the first season of Youth For Skopje, Alarm Fest 2021, Zdravo Mladi 11, the PMG Recordings Festival during White Night 2021 and the concert for 30 years of the Skopje radio station Kanal 103.

In January 2024 Lufthansa played Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) in Groningen, the Dutch showcase for new European acts, where the festival described them as a Macedonian band with an experimental and aggressive character. The same year they were on the bill of the INmusic festival, which counted four albums by then and heard a sound between noise rock, post-punk and experimental music. The album Daleku od vistinskoto nešto ("Far from the real thing") followed on 30 March 2024. On it, the band says, the tension between nature and industry pushes a young person toward mania, and Lufthansa turns that mania into "organized chaos".

The band's own channel gathers its videos, among them "Prazno, polno", "Šiše", "Kula", "Potok", "Kratok e denot" and "Let kon Japonija".
