About Irina & VI

Irina & VI is a rock band from Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded in Sarajevo in 2002 around its singer and frontwoman, Irina Kapetanović. She was born on 20 March 1981 in Konjic and started her career there with the group Drugo stanje, with whom she made two albums, Tragač and Nemir. She then left the group and her home town for Sarajevo, where she set up Irina & VI.

Their first album, A krv mi vri, came out in 2002 and was well received. The band toured Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro, and in 2004 released its second album, U rikvercu, written by Nedim Šarić Sara, a guitarist from Mostar who joined the band for that record. By then they had played some 150 concerts. At the Davorin awards Irina & VI won best new act in 2003, and Irina the award for the best female vocal performance in 2004.

Their best-known songs are "Mrazevi", "Sad se briše i blijedi", "Gavran" and "Tek što je svanulo". In 2010 Irina released the album Početak kraja as Irina & Storm. After some time the band broke up and she withdrew from public life; she lives in Konjic and has announced a solo album.
