Generacija bez kompasa

Generacija bez kompasa is a rock band from Srebrenik in Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded in 1991. Its sound is classic hard rock with long instrumental passages and high, powerful vocals, in the spirit of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

In the early years the band met only now and then, because of the war, and played covers of its idols, among them Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath. At the end of the 1990s it began to play more and to write its own songs, which led to the debut album Epitaf, released by Sarajevo Disk in 2002. Many Bosnian rock critics praised the album, but poor promotion kept it from wider success, and private duties and quarrels then stopped the band for some years.

In 2006 it came together again with a new drummer, Muharem Bajraktarević, and a young singer from Srebrenik, Malik Smajlović, whose voice, shaped by Ronnie James Dio, David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes and Jørn Lande, became the band's trademark. In 2008 Generacija bez kompasa played the pop music festival in Bihać, where it presented a new single, "Kad poželiš", and more festivals and singles followed. The band also made a tribute project to Smak, the progressive rock pioneers of Yugoslavia.

The second album, Na rukama rulje, came out in 2018. It moves from classic hard rock to ethno, blues and even jazz, in the instrumental "Srklet", and its songs deal with social issues of the day; critics praised it, and the band toured the region to promote it. The line-up is Malik Smajlović on vocals, Almin Bajraktarević on guitar, Nedim Bajraktarević on bass, Faruk Smajlović on keyboards and Muharem Bajraktarević on drums. This playlist is the band's own channel, with "Kad poželiš", "Rulja", "Srklet", "Uspavanka" and "Na jarbolima od svile".
