Area

Area is a pop-rock band from Gostivar, North Macedonia, formed in 1991. The band is fronted by singer Ružica Milošeska Brčioska, born on 4 April 1968 in Gostivar, and its line-up today is her husband Ivica Brčioski on guitar, Goran Brčioski on keyboards, Jordan Gavriloski on bass, Viktor Angjelkoski on drums and their daughter Elena Brčioska on backing vocals.

Their first song was "Neka ljubovta bide vistina" in 1991. A year later Area won first place at the Pop Rok Fest in Skopje and recorded the debut album Slučajno tuka (1992), which was named debut album of the year. The band played across North Macedonia until 1994 and then took a longer break.

Area returned with Vrati na imaginacija in 2000, whose hit "Site moi sliki" brought them back to the big stages: a concert at the Skopje Fair drew more people than the hall could hold, and the band added a show at the Universal Hall. That year's run led to the live album Da peam... Sepak možam! (2001), recorded at the Universal Hall. The studio album Nešto nedostasuva followed in 2002, Teb blizu came out in Serbian on PGP-RTS in 2005, and Se što sakam si ti, their sixth album, in November 2008.

Ružica Milošeska Brčioska also writes for other singers: her songs are on three albums of Karolina Goceva, Jas imam pesna (2000), Zošto sonot ima kraj (2001) and Najubavi pesni (2012). The band released "Zapoznaj me" in 2013 and later "Otsekogaš" (2021) and "Jave ili son" (2022). In April 2024 Area played two acoustic concerts with an orchestra at the Philharmonic in Skopje, and in 2025 they recorded a new version of their 1999 song "Oči angelski" with Young Dadi.
